Natural fertilizer

The BIL shared that adding egg shells to coffee grounds is a good thing.

Grasshopper ground the egg shells and i added them to the coffee grounds.

She sprinkled it over our small patch of growing vegetables.

I grew a radish.  I ate the radish.  It was a small radish.

Progress

There is progress in the garden.

Lettuce.

Brocolli.

Spinach.

A close up of the lettuce.

Picked lettuce.  It was tasty.

Tomato plant.

There is a radish in there.

And finally, home made garden decorations made by Snowden and Grasshopper.

Fresh lemonade

The inhouse explorers comb the neighborhood for lemons. We have been making a lot of lemonade.

This is Snowden's batch.

This is Grasshopper's.
It is such a delicious and refreshing treat indeed.

The New Portuguese Table

I had to look into this. I heard David being interviewed on NPR and wrote down the book title on a scrap piece of paper for looking into later.

I didn't have a chance to do much cooking or food exploring with my mother but it is not too late for delving deeper into Portuguese food through others.

The more I learn about the book, the more inclined I am to get it.

Breakfast

Some Saturday mornings I wake up in the mood for breakfast making.

The tomatoes from the garden were sauted in the bean mixture which also contains onions and garlic.

On the plate you find the cheese omelet, bacon, pears, avocado and the delicious bean misture.

Food decorations

It was the first time I did this...
At Christmas I am inspired by my sister who goes all out in decking her halls.

Snowden worked on this one.

My workstation.

The supplies.
Happy celebrating everyone!

No meat dish

I am loving sauted spinach.

I was able to find some at the grocery store and today I prepared it with the tomatoes from my garden.

These things are very, very flavorful.

My dinner: sauted spinach, tomatoes, and onions over freshly steamed white rice.
Delicioso.
