Good Food and Giving Thanks

Halfway through the meal...  I had a a lot of fun preparing the food. All dishes were made from scratch except for 1 cake.

The stuffing recipe was found in a Rachel Ray magazine.

The yams were pured and drizzled with maple syrup.

Table decorations.

The tablecloth made by my mother.  She was an avid crocheter.

Chocolate coins - cookies.

The cake from a box.  Fresh whipped cream frosting with raspberries.

The pride and joy of this cook...  the chocolate cheesecake.

The pumpkin bars with homemade vanilla frosting.

Biscotti.  First time I made it.

The dessert spread.
My two precious daughters had a hand in this masterpiece too.
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Pretty Pumpkin Muffins

It's fun sharing recipes with friends. Or better yet, get connected through cooking with others even if through blogging. My friend makes this yummy cake and I wanted to give it a try. I made muffins using my pretty muffin tray.

Ready for the oven.

Out of the oven.

How about that!

Cupcakes with a twist

Snowden loves to bake. We work well together. We take turns reading the recipe out loud.

She mixes and I measure, or she gathers the ingredients and I read.

We tried adding a cream cheese filling and used that Tupperwear gadget for the first time.

Same filling on the outside.

Almost there.

They are lemony tasting and yummy for those who like the texture of cream cheese.

Coconut Face Cake

This book inspired young minds in my kitchen to make this brownie cake.
You use a brownie mix in a box.

Follow the directions in the box.

The template comes in the book.

And, here's Coconut, an American Girl's best friend.

It's peachy!

The peaches I did not freeze needed to be used pronto. I found this recipe for muffins.

Look at those fresh peaches.

In the oven.

Yum!
